Restoring Urban Spaces
Founded and led by Jo Keeble, Tended Earth focuses on revitalising neglected urban spaces in Melbourne’s inner north with resourcefulness and care - boosting soil health, integrating existing landscaping elements, and planting resilient species that are connected to place. A key element of Tended Earth’s approach is the co-creation of beautiful, biodiverse, restorative garden spaces.
Information for Schools
During Sep-Nov 2025, Tended Earth collaborated with the Brunswick Secondary College (BSC) Parents’ Association on a rewilding project at BSC. The insights and outcomes of this project have informed the development of the hands-on school program, “Rewild my School”.
High School Wilding
BSC Rewilding Project
Our flagship school rewilding project is a collaboration with the Brunswick Secondary College (BSC) Parents Association.
This project has transformed more than 260 sq. metres of neglected school land into beautiful, biodiverse wild gardens.
Importantly, these wild gardens were co-created with community:
Horticultural TAFE students revitalised the soil with the integration of compost and zeolite prior to planting, and helped mulch gardens after planting.
BSC staff, students, and families engaged in guided planting sessions, planting more than 480 plants across three street-facing garden beds.
Gardening Program
Rewild my School
Tended Earth now offers a rewilding garden program to help schools in Melbourne’s inner north revitalise their school grounds with the co-creation of beautiful, biodiverse gardens.
